A global network for LGBTI equality

Discrimination of LGBTI people is seldom explicitly dealt with by most local administrations. These Rainbow Cities are the exception to this; they consider it their responsibility to protect and support their LGBTI citizens.

ILGA-Europe are a driving force for political, legal and social change in Europe and Central Asia. Our vision is of a world where dignity, freedoms and full enjoyment of human rights are protected and ensured to everyone regardless of their actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics.

In the breakout room we will talk about human rights of sex workers: how are the rights of sex workers treated in the Netherlands, especially now during corona? Yvette Luhrs (they/them) is a sex worker, politically active for Bij1 and protagonist in the Net5 docuseries 'Ik wordt prostituee'. Anke van den Dries (she/her) is a social worker at Stichting Humanitas ESSM and volunteer at Amnesty International Rotterdam. Both participated in the Human Rights Tattoo x Door2Door project last year and got tattooed with a letter from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to draw attention to unequal treatment of sex workers.
